About
One of my main goals (other than taking photos that my clients will love) is to help make the photography part of your life as easy and relaxing as possible. I got married about three years ago, and I try to stay updated with the industry and know how exhausting the planning can be. While I don’t have children yet, I keep your baby safe at all times during a shoot and prefer to have parents present so they can feel at ease. I shoot in a photojournalistic manor, and I LOVE candid portraits. I believe that when people don’t realize that there is a camera watching them, they are extremely carefree and that always provides some of the greatest moments. I prefer my telephoto lens so that I can stay unobstrusive and prevent people from feeling like they are being watched. Of course I still take the traditional portraits, but I like to add a little bit of a modern twist to it so they aren’t so forced.
I also believe that a relationship between photographer and client is crucial to getting the best photos possible. If we are comfortable around each other and have established a trust, then the posing and photo taking will come naturally (not to mention be a whole lot more fun!). So to help you get to know me a little better, here’s a few random facts about me:
- Someday, I want to say that I have been to every country in the world.
- There’s nothing like knowing that it is 5 degrees at home, but you are on a beach with a tropical drink for the next week.
- I tend to like the movies that everyone else hates. Same goes for music (yes, I like Nickelback!)
- My husband has gotten me to realize my love for zombies… both in movies and video games.
- I met my husband when he was dating one of my best friends back when we were 16.
- I can be a bit of a hoarder… a bad habit that has been passed down from the women in my family. Thankfully I think it is getting better with each generation, with my biggest hoarding habit being lots of paper and never deleting anything from my computer.
- I freak out when driving in big cities, unless I have a GPS. I also can’t parallel park and would love to get one of those cars that will do it for me.
- I treat my pets like they are my children. I have a Boxer dog, and 2 cats… 1 is an old man (17! yikes!) and 1 is a fiesty part-Maine Coon.
- I am terrified of heights, but am still planning on going skydiving this summer.
- I have a new found love of Keurig coffee machines and k-cups. What did I ever do without them?
- I am a little too addicted to my phone. I also love the Android system, but am heavily debating switching to an iPhone next time I am due for an upgrade.
- I edit my photos using a PC (I like Macs and will get one someday, but for now my PC is my baby).
- I have practically lived behind my camera since middle school when I decided to permanently hang on to one of my parents’ cameras.
