Snow Adventures and Plans

It’s a snow day!!

Well, kind of…

I got to leave work 2 hours early because we’re getting a bit of a snow storm right now. One of the few reasons why I’m okay with snow. The only other reason I like snow is for the photos I can get because of it.

As long as no other plans get in the way, I’ll be taking engagement photos in Chicago tomorrow! I can’t wait to get these two in front of the camera… there are so many ideas flying through my head that it’s getting hard to remember everything.

I definitely want to take some in Millennium Park, maybe some by the Buckingham Fountain, Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo, outside Chicago Theater… I’m hoping for at the end of the evening, we can get a few good ones with the skyline twinkling in the background, with the white snow basically lighting them up.

Brandon has my camera charging now, so we can go for a bit of a photo walk when I get home. Maybe practice a few techniques so I can get pretty lights in the background, and still have the subject lit up by the snow and my flash.

Every year I try to make sure to go out and get some photos of the first big snowfall. Right when the snow is perfectly fresh and hasn’t been ruined with footprints or blackened by car exhaust. This year, I have a whole new city to play with! Not even just one city, but TWO! So as long as everything goes to plan, I will have a few photos to post by Sunday.

Until then, here is a photo from one of my previous snowy photo walks that still remains a favorite of mine.
